Great video. I have a degree in Economics and I believe, it might be more important to understand the clients business requirements then to be an expert in Python. why I say that: looking for an education or training as a BA almost all courses or university programs focus on coding instead of understanding business data and solutions of real business requirements. Excel, SQL, Phyton ect. are just tools then, but if you don't understand the business problem in the first place, you cannot help your client.

Great video to understand the job of a BA. It would be great if you can share with us, which tools you use in your daily business and how you analyse the clients data, e.g. you mentioned Excel. Do you use a BI Software (Tableau ect) or doing coding in Phyton or R or using SQL? Your toolbox would be a great insight into data analyst daily job.

Hello! I saw for one of your replies that you majored in math. The question is, do you have to be good at math to be a business anylst? At best I can complete calc work lol. This kinda worried me, how often do you use complex math?

Thank you for your video. I am an HR professional and don't have technical skills. Am I eligible for the Business Analyst role?

Hello 🙂 I'll be a freshman in college this year and I'll major in Statistics! So excited. I plan to become an analyst in the future, I just don't know my niche yet.

    1. I just want to know what types of software you usually use for analyzing data? I've done my search and it's mostly Python, SPSS, SAS, or R. I'm planning on learning them while in college and do freelance so I can practice in the field. Also, I just want to have insights from a professional.

    2. How do you acquire clients? Do you make the offer to them or do they call you?

I'm currently active duty military, seeking to earn a degree in the near future. I'm scouting my options and data analytics seems interesting but Im curious if it tends to be more of a free-lance type of career path? Is the job structured?

Hi Jen, thanks for this informative video and the series! It sounds like something I could see myself doing. Are you self-employed and if so, how do you find clients? Have you made any other videos on that subject? Thx

Which CRMs do you generally use, are you using SalesForce?

Thanks for this video, it really helped me understand what a business analyst does. I'm currently in college majoring in Information Technology with a focus on Data Analytics. Some of the things you explained in the video were concepts we learned in class. For example, I built a computer network and recommended software packages for business and explained why. Your video helps me because it's more in-depth. Thank you

I majored in Biochemistry. I’m trying to see if there is something else I can get into. What are some programs that you recommend learning to help for interviews that employers may want their potential hires to have knowledge of?

This video is very precise and selective. As a beginner for the business analyst, the information provided is very informative. Thank You

So happy to find you! Thanks for the detailed overview. It's intimidating for me to approach the BI field maybe because these kind of jobs are used to have majority of males. Watching your videos are like the breath of fresh air.

Okay y'all…I need some advice. So, I will be starting a Data analytics/ BI Bootcamp soon and I am super excited to dive into something that I love. BUT…a lot of the job postings are stating that you need at least 3-5 years of experience. I already have my BS degree and was hoping the boot camp will teach me the skills needed but I'm kind of scared 😨

I was wondering if you can give your input on applying to Business Analytic grad programs. Does it matter the school you go to or is the curriculum you think is similar enough, to where as long as you get into a program you are good?

I'm not a fan of numbers, but am analytical/logical and use numbers a lot when thinking about personal financial goals and what time frame I need to accomplish those. I've been involved in sales for a while and have taken marketing and finance courses. I'm personable and enjoy a social work environment with more flexibility, I tend to think a lot as well about things; would i be considered a good candidate for business analyst role? I ask because I need to find a new job now and wanted to try something new, thank you

Hello, i am a female high school student looking into my future and so i was wondering if it was "possible" for me to be a business analysis and a psychologist at the same time? or are both of them to big and is going to be hard for me to manage?

Thanks, that was very informative. I've worked at a top financial institution for years and recently began thinking about what my next move within the organization might be. I've been recommended to consider a business analyst role but wasnt really sure what exactly it was. You've given me a lot of insight and thank you for that. Very interesting 😁
