Maybe I'm alone here, but assassins creed syndicate was extremely mediocre. I thought the concept was cool being set in London, but it was sooo boring. All of the side missions were the exact same and the missions were kinda boring to play. Admittedly, I never beat the game, but I sunk in a good number of hours in it and I just couldn't get into it. Maybe it gets better late in the game.

Can’t Recommend ROTTR!?!?! I Love 2013 TR but Love ROTTR more! Are you out of your mind?!? SOTTR isn’t the Greatest but it’s Underrated, at least an 8 or 8.5!

I think the fact that having an open world has so many possibilities and avenues which can be manipulated in the future. Both for player satisfaction and content expectations but also for financial gain. It’s just a way to extend the life of games which took considerably longer to create than those with less vested interests.

I couldn't watch more then 1 min of this due to the presenter talking so fast and not breathing. Waste of potential.

The Tomb Raider trilogy wasn't overlooked at all.
Tomb Raider 2013 had a huge budget, and so was seen as a disappointing seller to begin with. However it kept selling, and eventually got out of the red.
Even 3 years later, it was still a gold seller on Steam, and eventually passed 12 million sales.

Open world games I'd recommend other than gta games are
    (not in order of favourites)
    1. Crackdown 1 ~ 2
    2. Saints row 1 ~ 2
    3. La noire
    4. Assassins creed, 1 ~ < 3
    5. Godfather 2
    6. Mafia 1 ~ 2
    7. Forza horizon 1 ~ 2 (car racing)
    8. Red dead redemption
    9. Far cry 1 ~ 2
    10. Tony hawks project 8/proving grounds (skating).

These are games I've played and loved. Games I own but still have to play are watchdogs, the amazing spider-man, and batman arkham city goty edition and loads more still to play (I stopped gaming about 5 years or more ago and am only getting back into it now, i had a habit back then of just amassing games) There's tonnes more I played and loved but don't really remember if they'd be classed as an open world game.

If you've any strong recommendations for open world games (any type be it shooting, racing, skating, etc) please leave them below.

The driving mechanics in just cause 1,2 where dreadful! I'd hope they didn't implement similar similar mechanics into mad max.
